Multiple users on single client

I have a xserve with Tiger 10.4.2 and clients running 10.4.2.
All users are defined on the xserve. When I try to log in more than one user on a single client machine, I get an error stating that “You are unable to log into the “user” account at this time”.

Does this mean that I can only log on a single user on one machine, or am I missing something?

Yes, since the client can only make one AFP connection at a time to the server for home folders, you can only log in as one network user at a time. You can switch between a network and local account.

However, you only need these accounts to be mobile and not networked (files reside on the client), you can switch between two mobile accounts.
