Not sure if anyone has noticed this before, but if you move mail into and out of .Mac mailboxes using IMAP, mail creation dates are preserved properly so if you take last week’s mail from IMAP server “A” and move it to your .mac mailbox, it gets sorted one week ago.

However, I’ve noticed that if you do this with the built-in Apple Mail Server on 10.2, mail gets restamped to the current time and date.

Anyone know why this might be happening and how to stop it?

I’d like to consolidate some mailboxes between accounts but everything is getting restamped to “Today” as it shows up in .mail.

    Thanks in advance.
