Mobile Homes w/ 10.3 Client & 10.4 Server?

Hello Everyone,
This is a great site, I’m glad I found it. I’m a brand-newbie in terms of working with OSX Server but I have had years of Mac experience. I’ve had experience setting up a Windows Server 2003 based network that used roaming profiles & folder redirection.

Anyway, my question is this: Has anyone had experience using mobile directories with 10.4 Server and 10.3 Clients. With 10.4 Clients, everything seems to work as advertised, syncing when I tell it to or ask it to.

With 10.3 Client, which is supposidly supported, it doesn’t seem to work. It asks me to created a mobile profile and I can log in and out fine. However, the home directory doesn’t seem to sync based on the server settings and I can seem to find a way to ask it to on the client.

I know that I could use some other tool to sync them, but if that’s the case what’s the point with a managed mobile account in 10.3 Client?

I’m in this exact scenario. We have about 200 iBook/10.3 clients with a 10.4 server and I’m trying to get Mobile Accounts to work. So far, I’ve had zero luck getting the account to create or sync. Can anyone point me to a checklist or tutorial for setting up Mobile Accounts? I’ve found a couple of kbase articles on Apple’s site, but the information was disjointed.
