    Ups, missed my actual problem.

    Had 10.3.9 Server running
    Installed 10.4 Server with all updates incl. 10.4.2

    Did everything Apple migrations guide says:

    stopped mail service

    ditto old/var/imap new/var/imap
    ditto old/var/spool/imap new/var/spool/imap

    su
    sudo -u cyrusimap /System/Library…/upgradedb

    started mailservice

    Server admin says that mail database cannot be read…

    Check the ownership of the following directories:
    /var/imap
    /var/spool/imap
    The owner should be cyrusimap and the group should be mail

    Owner is cyrusimap and group is mail on /var/imap and /var/spool/imap…

    Does cyradm see the mailboxes ok?
