Migrating from 10.3 to 10.5 – Windows Domain

We have a G5 running Panther (10.3.9) Server. It’s our Open Directory Master and PDC for our Windows domain.

We’re getting a new Mac Pro with Leopard Server. Is there someone here who can describe what’s it like to migrate a directory from 10.3 to 10.5 so that Windows domain information (SIDs for users and machine accounts, etc.) comes across intact and functional?

I have a hunch this will require some guru-level Samba expertise, but I hope not; I really, REALLY don’t want to unjoin/rejoin all of our Windows clients to the domain!
