I am working on changing my server to use Exim and Courier via MySQL for mail and ProFTP via MySQL for ftp. This leads me to question whether it is possible/profitable to turn off Apple’s management of Apache and be able to set up Apache virtual host sites via MySQL. The primary benefit of such an action is to be able to set up PHP forms to manage the who hosting system.
Personally I don’t use the Apple web admin app at all since it doesn’t cover a lot of the ‘wierd and wonderful’ apache options that you can control via direct editing of httpd.conf.
It’s fine for your personal web server setup, but lacking if you’re into higher-end stuff.
