    Hi,

We have started introducing PHDs to our Mac notebook users and I want to be able to push out MCX settings for Apple Mail so all the user needs to enter is their password and they will get Mail.

We are a Leopard network. I thought I added the correct settings under the Preferences > Details tab in WGM, but when I load Mail on the client it wants to set Mail up from scratch.

Is there something I might be missing. Can anybody who is having success with this please advise?

    Thanks!

We’re having a similar problem. I have a Leopard server and Tiger clients, and I added the Core Services to the Workgroup Manager. I can control the desktop background image and set the Safari homepage, but even though I’ve specified Mail and iChat settings, the two programs want to start from scratch and create new users, instead of taking the MCX settings.

I know that iChat, at least, has a bunch more preference lists (one for Jabber, one for AIM, etc.), though those aren’t included in the Core Services bundle. Is there a way for a user to log on and have their iChat and Mail already set up using WGM preferences?

(Bonus question: Any way to set up a user with a Jabber iChat account, but prevent them from creating an AIM account?)
