    Hello,

Running mail_group_expander causes the error as follows. I have submitted this to Apples forum but found nothing so far. Infact this application seems to just work for everyone but me. The idea of it is (form man) “mail_group_expander is used to to add group aliases to the /etc/aliases file. It scans the directory looking for mail enabled groups, expands the users contained within the group and then adds email addresses for each user to the group alias. Groups are enabled through the Server Preferences Application”.

I am seeing the same behavior on my mail server.

Running mail_group_expander from the command line returns:

    admin:postfix strucke1$ sudo mail_group_expander
2009-01-14 13:18:39.065 mail_group_expander[605:a0b] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception ‘NSInvalidArgumentException’, reason: ‘*** -[NSCFString setString:]: nil argument’

And I’m seeing the same messages in the logs when I try to start the mail service.

I’m having exactly the same problem. Compounding this issue, it appears that postfix has decided to ignore my aliases file and use some mystery file of days past. I can’t get it to honor an updated aliases file.
