Okay, I know that I can list individual hosts by name or IP address, e.g.:

    mail.domain.com
    10.1.10.250

How do I block a range of addresses in the mail filtering settings? I tried the following methods, but they didn’t seem to work:

    10.1.10.0/24
    10.1.10.0-10.1.10.255

I’m going to be migrating from an OS 9 server running SIMS as my mailserver, and in SIMS I have a TON of IP ranges blocked using the latter method. They’re mostly zombied boxes sitting on broadband connections, and my mail logs show a lot of crap that gets refused.

Also, can I use wildcard blocking, like “*.client.comcast.net” to block all those idiot cable modem users who have zombied boxes pumping out spam?

Another question- is it possible to easily edit the rejection messages postfix sends when a server on the blocked list tries to send mail to my server? I changed the SIMS message to direct people who had legitimate mail blocked to e-mail my abuse@ address so I could remove their particular IP from the block list.

Finally, is there a way to designate an address (or addresses) that will receive all mail sent to it, even if the sending server is on the blocked list?

I’m hoping to avoid digging through all the postfix docs to find all this out as I endeavor to recreate the exact functionality I enjoy with SIMS on my old OS 9 Power Mac.

    TIA,

    ~Philly
