I have a setup with a 10.3.4 OD Master XServe and two 10.3.9 replicas.
Logging into a client I have a slow login. It’s the old chestnut where finder takes forever to kick in with a transparent bar at the top with a few symbols. After about 50 seconds it completes log in and all is then (seemingly well).
However, whenever I’ve encountered this in the past it’s been due to the WS not being able to find a hard-coded DNS. This is not the case.
DNS on the Xserve is running perfectly – authentication takes place snappily and a subsequent nslookup resolves known hosts quickly too.
Any idea what could be causing Finder to hang like this when loggin in?
N.B. login to any of the server consoles is fast.
Thanks in advance….
