    I am hoping someone out there will help shed some light on the correct way to get Leopard (The latest seed 3/2/07) to bind to a NIS server and also get AutoFS to read NIS maps. I have done the basic things which whould enable this to work::

    1. Add NIS domain into NIS services in Directory Services
    2. double check items in /etc/hostconfig
    3. reboot

    result::

    ypbind not working
    no NIS resolution
    no NIS authentication

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Steve

    Suffice it to say, most everyone here does not have access to Leopard/Leopard Server since it’s still being worked on by Apple and not a commercially available product yet. So I don’t know if you’re going to get much help here.

    I have to admit that the subject of NDA hadn’t crossed my mind during the writing of the initial post…. Then I was reminded by a nice email suggesting that I not break my NDA here or anywhere else. I would like to be sure this is included into this post since this is an important issue. Your NDA is a legally binding agreement and could cause you to lose your WWDC membership and the priveliges that go along with it. I would like to take the time to publically thank the members who helped remind me of the NDA before I really broke it… Thanks..
