    hi,
    I just installed 10.3 server.
In the past I created user accounts and managed them with netinfo on 10.2 server and it was very easy. Now I have to use LDAP which I know nothing about. With Jaguar on my client machines under directory access, under netinfo I checked ATTEMPT TO CONNECT USING A SPECIFIC NETINFO SERVER. I used 192.168.0.1 for the server IP, and network for the server tag.
My question is simple. I’ve set up user accounts on the server with workgroup manager under LDAPv3. But on my client machines how do I set up LDAPv3 under Directory Access. Or should I use Active Directory instead of LDAPv3 under Directory Access. Where do I find the information needed to fill out LDAPv3 on my client machines on my 10.3 server?
P.s. All my clients are running panther (standard edition)
    Thanks in advance.

greetings currently your clients are bound toa netinfo database. Setup the LDAP data first then switch the clients to bind to LDAPv3.

you may want to wait a bit tho. I haven’t tried it yet. but 10.2 may not be able to do V3 yet. — list correct me if I’m wrong.

for right now,…panther can still support your netinfo data just as it did before.
you should experiment in small isolated areas first.

have maybe one lab bind to a migrated netinfo to ldap data.

you can change your settings on the clients using the directory access utility.

    –x
