I’m trying to integrate some third-party services with 10.7 Server LDAP authentication. The current project is a Synology NAS, with OpenVPN and Jenkins on the docket. My server’s search base is of the form “dc=subdomain,dc=domain,dc=com”, and the LDAP usernames are populating as [email protected].

Authentication works, but I would really, really prefer to use just “jblow”, or worst-case, [email protected] to log in from these various services. The full subdomain username format is going to baffle people. Is there any way to bend this to my will?

    Thanks very much.
