I have a *hopefully* simple Kerberos question.
My users log into their client Macs (mostly 10.3.9 but a couple 10.4) via the AD plug-in.
I have just set up a new Mac OS X 10.4.7 Server that is connected to an AD domain. I have set up kerberos on the server (very nice – just press a button!) and it working great.
When my user is logged into their client Mac and they connect to the 10.4 server, they do not need to enter a username or password – the kerberos authentication takes care of that and the shares just show up and the user can choose the one they want.
However…..
In the past there have been occasions when I need to hop on their client Mac computer, log them out of the server and then log myself in so I can copy a file onto their computer that only I have access to on the server.
So the question is, with my end users logging into the client Macs via the AD plug-in and Kerberos working on the 10.4 server, is there any way for me to force a server login window to come up when I connect to the server or will it always automatically use the kerberos information for the user logged in and automatically bring up the shares they have access to?
Thanks,
Sean Murphy
