I accidently removed my httpd_macosxserver.conf file from /etc/httpd/ and have no backup of it. . . (Dont ask. . . Brain Fart) and now i cannot start apache (Obviously). Could anyone tell me how to replace it without re-installing Panther? Or possibly give me a copy of another httpd_macosxserver.conf? BTW: I’m running OS X 10.3 Server on a Dual 1Ghz G4 XServe. Any help is greatly appreciated, my boss is about blow a rear main. . . .

evidently the httpd.conf file in osx 10.3 client is much different than the httpd_macosxserver.conf file in 10.3 server. I’ve been told that the server file houses the data that is inputed through the ServerAdmin GUI. Which is the stuff that a traditional apache httpd.conf would contain. So for some reason apple split the configuration into two files. I really think that if i could get someone to send me a copy of the httpd_macosxserver.conf file from their /etc/httpd/ directory, i could get everything running. Unfortunately, I live in a technology deprived area, and my XServe is probably the only one within a few hundred miles, Thus, Im at the mercy of folks in this BB to help.

I just did a fresh install of 10.3 server,

    ran locate.updatedb

    and then

    locate httpd_macosxserver.conf

it found no copy of this file.

I was going to post it for you, but it does not appear to exist on my OSX Server 10.3. Yes the web service is installed, running, etc.

Any thoughts on why I dont have it? Do I need to modify the config with the server manager or something?
EDIT: I made a new site on the machine with Server Admin, still no httpd_macosxserver.conf file….

There are two .conf files in /etc/httpd(actualy several more, but I didnt think you woudl be interested in mailman.conf and squirrelmail.conf)

    httpd.conf
    httpd.conf.default

here are links to both of them.

    http://www.jonathandaniels.com/httpd.conf.txt
    http://www.jonathandaniels.com/httpd.conf.default.txt

That other file does not seem to exist at all.
