    Dear All,

In Snow Leopard you are able to set system, – login and -userprofiles for Radius 802.1x authentication for Wi-Fi with works perfectly with Apple’s Wifimanagement for Radius in Snow Leopard Server.

In Lion Server and client, you have to create a payload in Profile Manager to roll out your Wi-Fi config to clients. Also, the clients are lacking any other way to configure radius manually in System Preferences. With Lion Server up to 10.7.2, I can’t find a way to configure system, – login and -userprofiles for Radius authentication. Also, the tickbox to tell Wi-fi to always conenct to the defined network has no effect. Lion clients from 10.7.0 to 10.7.2 fail to authenticate with the login, resulting with errors for any network mount that is defined in MCX, thus having w-fi connected only some moments after a login, which is only possible on mobile profiles.

    Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Alex

Solved! The Lion Server was not an OD when we attempted to get Profile Manager going. The server was just bound to another OD. Now we have created the OD while still being bound to the other OD and everything works as expected.
