I am wondering what sort of advanges having an internal DNS would have for me? I currently use a static host file on all my servers and clients, and all machines point to my ISPs DNS for external.
    thanks,

One advantage (whose importance is propotional to the number of clients and servers you administor) is that instead of having to change the entries in a x number of host files, you can just change 1 DNS entry. The decision to run an internal DNS, would also hinge on many of the same reasons for running a DHCP server.- the dreaded pain in the butt factor.
