Took me a few builds to narrow this down, but after adding FrontRowUpdate2.1.2.pkg to the build order, I get this during the build:
Volume failed to eject
asr: successfully scanned image “/Volumes/Spare/InstaDMG_1.3b/Instadmg/ASR_Output/08-03-03.dmg”
Even after InstaDMG completes, I still can’t eject OS-Build-08-03-03. It’s reported as in-use. Any suggestions about what might be causing this? Dumping the CLI doesn’t clear the problem. Is the build likely still usable?
There’s a known issue the iTunes launches iTunesHelper app after its install and that would prevent the volume from unmounting. I simply removed the postinstall scripts from the itunes.mpkg that does that.
I don’t know of any issues with FrontRowUpdate though.
It is, in fact, iTunes that’s causing the problem. Please don’t ask me how I arrived at the conclusion that the FrontRow installer was to blame. I’m going with the story that it was first thing in the morning, and I hadn’t had my coffee yet. And that’s the best you’ll get out of me. 🙂
Thanks for the tip on iTunes…sorry about my less-than-impressive testing skillz. 😳
