InstaDMG 1.6b2 and installing Xcode 3.2.1 on a Snow Leopard image

Hello:

I’ve recently downloaded InstaDMG 1.6b2 from the dev google site, and in the process of getting Xcode installed on a Snow Leopard image, I’ve hit a snag. I downloaded the Xcode 3.2.1 DMG from Apple’s dev site, calculated the checksum and plopped it on my web site that provided the packages that I use with InstaDMG. The InstaDMG run as part of instaUp2Date doesn’t do the installation of Xcode. After looking in the debug log of InstaDMG, I see the following errors:

Has anyone got a workaround for this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hmmm, the iPhone+Xcode dmg just ‘worked’ for me unmodified. instadmg rev 266, iphone_sdk_3.1.3_with_xcode_3.2.1__snow_leopard__10m2003a.dmg, 10.6.3 and the rest of the vanilla catalog packages. I will report back when I get a chance to test it.

Yup, iPhone+Xcode worked. I can understand this not being of help to you, maybe you don’t want to roll out a 12GB image(and that’s not including Office or iLife,) but is there any way I can assist in finding out why its not working for you? I’ll get around to trying with just Xcode soon as well just to see.

I’ve tried InstaDMG r277 w/ 10.6.3 and the stock Xcode 3.2.1 DMG (not w/ iPhone because that’s not distributable w/out an Apple Developer membership AKAIK). It failed in the same way as I described. I don’t get it.

I’m having the same failure with the latest Subversion release of InstaDMG and Xcode 3.2.2 + iPhone SDK 3.2. Very cryptic.
