inherit permissions

Is there a unix way to inherit permissions with setting up a separate sharepoint? I setup user’s computers to access automatically certain sharepoints, the problem is that a few folders need always have the same permissions as the root folder. I don’t know if there is a way to inherit without creating a new sharepoint?
