    Hello,

    I tried to import my 1000+ users and groups in Jaguar Server (10.2), with password server authentication enabled (I need long names), but didn’t manage to do it.

    Can somebody help me? Many thanks in advance.

    It seems that I can myself respond to my question. Unfortunately to late for importing my own users 🙁 , but I hope it will help others.

    I quote Jason Rusoff of the macos-x-server-list at apple:

    [quote:162ef883dc]If you are running a server system with the password server enabled, and you want to import delimited users and have them use the password server, you need to specify in each record that the authentication method is cleartext. To do this the record description should have a field named dsAttrTypeStandard:AuthMethod and the value of this field for each record should be dsAuthMethodStandard:dsAuthClearText. Below is an example of an import file that should import two new users and add them to the password server:

    0x0A 0x5C 0x3A 0x2C dsRecTypeStandard:Users 8 dsAttrTypeStandard:RecordName dsAttrTypeStandard:AuthMethod dsAttrTypeStandard:Password dsAttrTypeStandard:UniqueID dsAttrTypeStandard:PrimaryGroupID dsAttrTypeStandard:Comment dsAttrTypeStandard:RealName dsAttrTypeStandard:UserShell
    sk8allday:dsAuthMethodStandard:dsAuthClearText:pword1:374:11:comment:Tony Hawk:/bin/csh
    mattm:dsAuthMethodStandard:dsAuthClearText:pword2:453:161::Matt Mitchell:/bin/tcsh

    Cheers
