I tried adding iLife ’09 to my build yesterday. iLife apps were installed, but they have generic app icons and they crash immediately at launch.

I had put the entire iLife pgk file in my custom installs folder- on the assumption that it shouldn’t go in the ‘Base Updates’ since it wasn’t an update.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I’ve packaged up an actual iLife install. I’ll post results.

    Packaging works just fine.

Took the before snapshot, Installed the apps, and ran software update. After the restart took the ‘after snapshot.

The only thing I was a bit nervous about was including Quicktime in my pkg- but it doesn’t seem to have made a big difference.

I’m adding iLife support back into my build as a base update.

    Did you use Packagemaker?

Rusty, actually, in the end I just used Composer to snapshot it.

I have the Apple provided “iLife ’09.pkg” (also have an 08 version) in my custom install folder. Is it possible you may have had some iLife updates installing before the full iLife pkg? iLife updates should be in custom as well, after the main pkg.

What version of Composer were you using? I tried with version 5.1 but keep getting “An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down”

I am using Composer 7 and have packaged iLife ’09 with no issues. I have not deployed this package with InstaDMG but have do so successfully with both ARD 3 and Deploy Studio.
