I am trying to configure iChat screen sharing on 2 leopard 10.5.2 clients across a WAN via ichat server ….leopard server 10.5.2 but am having trouble

I have configured and tried two scenarios both haven’t worked. BTW screen sharing on the LAN is fine.

Ichat 1 is from a remote site ie my home – ichat 2 is running on the server itself so is inside the network…. both have NAT ip addresses

I have a server on a static NAT with a speedtouch 585 router set up with all the correct ports forwarding to the server according to KB article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93208

I have a DNS entry out in hyperspace that resolves to my external ip of the speedtouch. i have configure the ichat clients to pick up this extenal ip via the DNS entry out in hyperspace…ichat is fine and works accross all services except screen sharing (BTW natloopback is enabled on the router).

The other way i tested was by using the external ip address on the ichat client at my home and the internal ip of the server on the internal ichat client then disabling natloopback on the router ….this way none of the ichat features worked!!! even though portforwarding was enabled as per KB doc.

Anyone got any ideas i understand Apple uses some kind if SNATMAP on port 5678 which i have got port forwarding to the server so i’m wondering if this is interfering with my NATloopback set up.
