    Hello,

For some reason when we log into a mac via AD and run “Word” it won’t save files unless the “Show all files extensions” is checked in the “Finder”prefs. I’ve tried setting this in the “.GlobalPreferences.plist” in the “User Template” but that doesn’t work. I’ve also tried to set it in the .nib file of the finder, but that doesn’t seem to work either.

If I were to write a login script that would copy over a .GlobalPreferences.plist to the new users AD /Library/Preferences/ folder how would it be written since each user would have a different name? How can I wildcard (so to speak) the user in the path e.g. cp /Users/admin/Documents/.GlobalPreferences.plist /Volumes/user??/Library/Preferences/?

I’m not even sure how the path would be written for an AD account.

If you have a better/easier way of setting this “Show all files extensions” please advise.

    Thank you
    David Boyer
