We bound 5 carts of laptops to AD and OD, someone grabbed my personal laptop and bound it to AD, OD. the AD isn’t a problem but the OD is running Workgroup Manager, now my machine is controlled, “All my base” belongs to an Apple Workgroup Manager at this point and without reloading I haven’t been able to find the preference to remove it. I have logged in as an Admin and removed the LDAP settings from Directory Access but it remains managed, it still comes up to the managed login window after I set it differently on the machine, its like this thing won’t leave its mothership no matter what happens. Anyone know how to defeat this beast once its installed?

I would have thought removing the ldap entry in directory access would have sorted that out.
You could also try opening netinfo on your laptop and deleting the mcxcache entry???
I take it you still want to use AD to authenticate?? Otherwise you can delete the /etc/krb5.keytab file (I think thats what its called).

At any rate, deleting the mcxcache entry in netinfo should force a refresh of the mcx settings.

You might also want to check the authentication tab of directory access and make sure the workgroup manager is not still there. If it is, delete it.

yep, it was the mcx cache, I figured it out about 2 hours after the posting. I kept trashing the managed prefs and wasn’t sure why they kept coming back so I knew it had to be a cached setting somewhere. Thanks for the reply.
