Am I correct in assuming that I just need to make sure they are on different subnets? Is configuring the switch necessary? If it helps, the reason I am doing this is so we can have a private network dedicated to one type of data (metadata for our XSAN). I don’t currently have access to the Switch (3Com 2824) since the mac address and ip are not printed on it and I am hoping I can set this up without needing to access the switch.
