Hi.
ive created my base OS X 10.6.7. image using InstaDMG and now im working in WGM for the MCX side of things. The main problem I have is HomeSync. In our environment we dont use any OS X servers, all authentication and home directory storage in done in AD and SMB (Windows) servers. I’ve setup Preference syncing to occur at login and logout, but this is not happening. upon login a message appears and says:

”Home Sync Failed, Continue without a synced home?
If you continue, sync your home as soon as possible. If you cancel, your home will not be created.”

i checked the Console log and the following is displayed: HomeSync.doHomeSyncLoginLogout: Unable to mount server URL at ‘smb://servername/userdata$’ (80). No sync will occur.
if i click continue, the user’s home dir is mounted on the Dock.

ive configured Mobility in WGM in the following way:

create mobile account
create home using = local home template
and configured the Home Sync settings – like i said ‘at login’ and ‘at logout’

also… ive also added manifests for ‘Mobility’ in WGM to suppress the initial sync error but i still get that error upon login.
does anyone have any ideas?
thanks
