I remember reading about how to disable or hide the Groups, Public and Users shares, but can’t find where I read it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I only want my "administratrion, backup and clients" shares visible to my users. Is that even possible?

Perhaps I’m not understanding what you’re looking for, but changing the group so that the average user can’t see the share, or simply turning off sharing on that directory isn’t what you’re looking for?

Sorry for not being more clear. I have setup 3 shares that I want people to see. Right now, when a client machine selects “Go > connect to server”, they see “Groups, Public, Users, Administration, backup, clients” in the list of shares they can connect to. I’d like to set it up so that users only see the “Administration, backup, clients” shares.

So just stop sharing the 3 you don’t want visible.
If you still want those shares available, but not visible, then you can set up ACLs on the sharepoints to prevent users from reading those directories, then they won’t appear in the connect to server dialogue box.
