People, a simple question. What is the Helpdesk/ServiceDesk/Solution Center of choice for your businesses? We all use them (for the most part) in one way shape or form. MY dilemma is I’ve started working at a place which has no such thing at all!

    Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

(by the way I’ve used a lot and think they all …”suck”)

Are you referring to a support ticket kind of thing? They’re easy enough to write that I can’t imagine licensing one being worth the investment.

We use Web Help Desk: http://www.webhelpdesk.com/

It does tickets, inventory, works will with our directory services, and hooks into both ARD and Terminal Services.

I work at a college and a lot of our cohort’s Help Desk’s use it as well.

We use VisionProject (www.visionproject.se). The cost for this was so low that it was definitely cheaper than writing our own.
Also, they have improved it quite a lot since we bought it. It has now the ability to control SLAs and contracts for our customers and also a Web Portal for them to be able to keep track of their issues.
