I feel like a yutz posting this, but it’s the end of the day and my brain is running in circles. I want to nail down a quick summary of how to set up a 10.3 server to be an OD Master AND a file server with SSO in an AD environment.
Yes a seperate file server would be ideal, but I know I won’t get that so I’m cramming it all into one system for now, and having no luck getting the MCX settings from OD.
1: set up the server as an OD Master with file services turned off
2: make sure the KDC isn’t running and isn’t going to run
3: bind to AD and go through Michael Bartosh’s SSO instructions
4: edit your smb.conf file
5: start up AFP and Windows file services
6: set up your Mac client to connect to both AD and LDAPv3
