I installed an intel dual port gigabit NIC in my G5 Server and I selected the 2 ports in Network Prefs and created a link aggregate or bonded the 2 ports. And it works, I get a bond0 in my list of network interfaces and a single IP address, (from my schools DHCP server) great!

I now need to apply for a static IP (from my schools DNS service) and I need to give them a single MAC address for my server but I can’t seem to find a single MAC address that represents the bonded ports.

In system profile I have a MAC for each port, which are nearly the same – the only diff is the last part of the MAC address BUT when i select the bond0 interface in system profiler I don’t get a MAC address?

Anyone know ow can find or create a single MAC address for bonded ports?

    THANKS!
