I have a new install of Tiger Server and I have run into a problem. I have the domain xyz.com. When I setup the Zones and server name, I have as follows:

    Zone Name: xyz.com

    Server Name: server

So the fully qualified server name is server.xyz.com

My question is: I have contacted my isp to resolve my ipaddress to server.xyz.com and they have done do. Do I have to create the subdomain in with my registrar to make this work correctly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are you trying to accomplish? Mail server? Web server?

With the info provided, now your external IP should now resolve your server. ex. if you type host then the server.xyz.com must appears. The opposite must resolve too. I believe you must add an alias Cname in your DNS zone with the external IP matching your server name, someone correct me if Im wrong here.
