This is not about Mac OS X Server. I can’t tell if this is the proper place to ask this. I’m using Mac OS X 10.4.9 Client.
I have two systems I’ll call e and t. From my laptop (called newtoy), I do:
ftp://user:[email protected]
from Safari and a window opens showing me the home directory of user on e plus a ftp mount point appears on my desktop. The authentication method on e is DCE.
When I do the same thing to t, it never connects. After two minutes it asks again for my username and password. It still spins and spins.
I’ve run tcpdump and for the working case, I log in and after the 230 User logged in message, newtoy sends out a SYST message.
In the non-working case, I get logged in and receive the 230 User logged in message but for some reason newtoy never sends out the SYST message and eventually the connection times out.
I’ve checked permissions on the disk and rebooted.
Any ideas of where to go from here?
