Force a disk rescan

I’m experimenting with enterprise storage systems. I can mount fiber channel disks after a reboot, but necessitating a reboot to mount a disk is unacceptable.

I’ve been doing some digging, but so far have come up blank. What occurs at boot to discover disks, and how can I kick off that process manually?
