Hi all.
So, I’ve now gotten to the point where SMB Network Userhomes are working perfectly. I can do everything that an AFP userhome does…except one thing.
After about 20 to 30 mins of sleeping, the SMB Network Userhome will “disconnect” from the samba server backend, resulting in an effectively “useless” userhome, where the logical volume has been taken out from under the user.
There have been many products such as Sharity and ADmitMac that have attempted to fix this SMB Sleep/wake problem, but none seem to have done it cleanly. ADmitMac does indeed solve the problem partially but does complicate your installations in other ways.
I *really* just need a method for SMB Network Userhomes to resume correctly from sleep. You’d think Apple would allow/support this, after all these years :\.
Any help, would be most appreciated. If anyone needs more details, or the problem explained more fully, please just ask.
