File Server Web Front End

I am looking for software (PHP, Pearl, etc) that would allow me to put a web interface onto my XServe file server. Users would be able to authenticate via LDAP and then browse (or search) the directories looking for files. This is mostly for remote users so they don’t have incur the speed costs of mounting the smb or afp shares to access the files.

Does anyone know of any open-source, or pay software that will accomplish what I am looking for?

hmm, not exactly the solution I was hoping for. I’d like more of an interface, kind of like a webmail type interface, but dealing only with files. This way they could upload/download and see the full paths and such.
