Thanks for the earlier advice regarding the Phase 1 failure. It appears that our SW firmware is hopelessly out of date.
There is one feature that I’d like to see implemented – the ability to hardcode or bypass the administrator password entry.
I know that VaporSec is an AppleScript-based GUI for racoon terminal commands. Would it be possible to add a preference where the initial login can be bypassed? As an alternative, I’d be willing to tinker with the source code to customize the program for our implementation.
If you’re curious, our plans to implement OS X companywide are hindered by applications that require an administrative password to run properly. We’d like to avoid handing out admin usernames and/or passwords to protect users from irrevocably damaging/deleting system files. To my knowledge, VaporSec and its non-freeware competitors all require administrative access to run – and the ability to establish a VPN connection is the only functionality that we haven’t found a workaround for.
Thanks for your consideration, and congrats on putting together a fine piece of software.
