External OpenLDAP server + Leopard Server Services

Hi Everyone! Our college has existing LDAP (Open Directory) servers that I want to leverage. I have "connected to an open directory" on mac os x server under directory access and server admin. Workgroup manager shows all the proper users and groups. However, Podcast Producer doesn't seem to be able to use these users to authenticate. On the same note, I cannot turn on Group blog privileges for these groups either, so I think these might be related. Any ideas?
