External OpenLDAP server + Leopard Server Services

Hi Everyone! Our college has existing LDAP (Open Directory) servers that I want to leverage. I have “connected to an open directory” on mac os x server under directory access and server admin. Workgroup manager shows all the proper users and groups. However, Podcast Producer doesn’t seem to be able to use these users to authenticate. On the same note, I cannot turn on Group blog privileges for these groups either, so I think these might be related. Any ideas?

Those services almost definitely need to store extra stuff in the directory. You may be able to extend the schema of your existing LDAP server to support these new attributes, or you can use the “augmented users” feature of Leopard server.
