Quick problem description: Exim will send mail out, does not seem to receive
Quick history:
1) Installed OS X 10.1 Server
2) Installed OS X 10.2 Server (upgrade)
3) Set up multiple IPs with ISP routing multiple domain names to each
4) Set up web and e-mail sharing – works fine
5) Install Exim – no go – libmcrypt problem (as above)
6) Installed OS X 10.2.1 Server
7) libemcrypt problem solved
8) Added multiple domain names to config file, set Apple Mail Server to use Sendmail.
9) IMAP logs in fine, POP checks mail without error, accounts can send mail out w/o problem.
exim config set to use /var/mail (which is empty, no hidden files either)
log said a great deal about not finding users at local host. Realized one problem: I had followed the directions for making virtual domains on one article where the unix commands had the virtual domains in the /etc/mail directory. I had used the directions from another article and sendmail was looking in /etc/mail/virtual for those files.
Fixed that.
Tried again, read log.
“… unable to set gid=20 or uid=1038 (euid=25): local delivery to transport=local_delivery”
went into the /etc/aliases file and added “angie : [email protected]”
Tried again, read log.
“… unable to set gid=20 or uid=1038 (euid=25): local delivery to transport=local_delivery”
So, I think I have made progress, but I still don’t know.
