    Hi,

I have a PowerMac G5 with Tiger 10.4.1 and I have managed to:

    1. Get access to shared drives.
    2. Connect to printers in the network.

The last thing I need to do is get access to the emails I have on the MS Exchange 5.5 server running on Win NT server.

There is a Win NT Domain.

Does anyone know if Entourage/Mail can connect to the exchange server. From the documentation I have read from Apple’s site etc, it seems that Tiger can connect easly to exchange 2003.

From Microsoft’s website I saw that Entourage X and 2004 connect to Exchange 2000/2003 but no one makes a mention of Exchange 5.5

Anyone know if this is possible. How? Links to pages/documentation I can read.

    Thanks for all your help.

Exchange X, with the latest upgrade, can connect to an Exchange 5.5 server. After the upgrade, go to Tools. Then Accounts. You will see Exchange in the selection.

    Mike Thanks a lot.

Will give it a try. Does Entourage 2004 work?

Entourage X’s Exchange functionality will work with Exchange 5.5. Entourage 2004 will not.

The easiest solution might be to simply use IMAP to connect to your Exchange server. I’ve used Entourage X, Entourage 2004, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail to connect this way. The only tricky part is getting your username formed correctly. Here is the formula:

NT Domain Name / NT Username / Exchange Alias

For example, on our Exchange 5.5 server, my IMAP username is: CPI/jason/jason.heiser

P.S. You must change the forward slash to a backslash! I used the forward slash in my examples because the AFP548 forum software strips backslashes!
