Greetings! I am running a test server at home as a sandbox to play with for getting ready to take certification tests. Currently I have my external line coming into en0 [built-in Ethernet] – and my private network line coming out of en1 [added-on 10/100 Ethernet PCI card].

I heard that Open Directory binds to en0 automatically – and well, I’d rather not be sending out OD stuff on my external line to the public.

Is there an easy way, that I don’t have to re-install OS X Server to switch these ports around? Do I have to worry about things getting totally hosed up? I know if you change your IP after initial; config, that things get messy – this is moreso just switching the private and public Ethernet ports…

Thanks in advance – this is a great site!

Well, I switched the Ethernet configs around [public and private] and also swapped the cables – and things still seem to be working… Let me know of there anything to be wary of.

I made sure to turn off DHCP and NAT before doing it, and also made sure to switch NAT to be active on the other Ethernet port as well. Smile

    Thanks in advance!
