Error -35 connecting via AFP

I’m runing Mac OS X 10.4 Server in our office and AFP connections from my Powerbook to it were working fine up until today. I can connect using SMB to shares but not via AFP. If I do a Go | Connect to server and specify afp://servername.local (which is what I used to do), I get an Error code -35 message. I deleted the ~/Library/Preferences/GlobalPreferences.plist file as someone had suggested on macosxhints and have rebooted my PowerBook and restarted AFP on the server.

Any ideas?
