    I’ve been able to reproduce this problem with two Tiger servers and three Entourage clients.

    I’ve set up a Tiger server to provide SSL-enabled POP and IMAP with a self-signed certificate. Apple Mail is able to correctly connect and retrieve mail, as is Outlook on Windows XP and 2000, and even Outlook Express on XP and 2000. However, when connecting to a Tiger server with SSL and a self-signed certificate, Entourage immediately crashes when checking the account. I am able to connect to a non-Tiger mail server with a self-signed cert with no problem. This problem can be recreated at will on multiple machines.

    I’d like to know what is causing Entourage to crash, but the Window… Error Log function is dimmed out whenever I restart it.

    Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any way I can find out what’s causing Entourage to crash? Is this an Entourage problem or a Tiger Server problem?

    The key size for both servers is 1024. I don’t know what I think about making it much weaker than that, I’d have to talk to the client(s) whose mail is hosted there.

    Did you try the smaller key? I’m having the same problem, Entourgae crashes while attempting a secure connection.

    Only thing found about it in system.log:
    imaps[889]: imaps TLS negotiation failed: [192.168.0.10]
    imaps[889]: Fatal error: tls_start_servertls() failed

    I read something about Entourage not supporting TLS, it does support SSL but no TLS?

    Any hints appreciated Smile
