My first post on here, so first of all just like to say hello!

I am currently working on a site I am hosting which requires some java scripting…

At the moment it isn’t working, soo my question is..

Would this be due to the fact that I am not running jboss or tomcat or should the script in fact work with only web services enabled? (The script basically shows/hides layers on a page).

    Thanks
    Martin

Well I seem to have solved this problem myself, I have now got my little script working, so it wasn’t to do with the Application Server. Maybe if someone has the chance they could tell me what this is actually used for..

    Cordialment

JavaScript and Java are two entirely different things.

Yes, I’m now aware of this, and apologise for my mistake, the title should have been enabling javascript, which would now probably look a little silly now as I know it works with web services. Java and Javascript are indeed two different things, although I did say the problem was solved and asked if anyone could explain what Application Server is used for? Thanks for your help

Tomcat is for serving JSP content. You probably shouldn’t worry about it.
