we are looking to migrate from EIMS to something (1800 users) that can handle the heavy load better. i know there is a mail server round up being done by Joel Rennich (McTroll) are there any sugessions as to what to use.

i think i want to keep my investment in entourage (mac) and outlook (pc)
groupware would be nice but not necessary.

my short list is kerio, communigate pro and postfix. looks like that is also the order in terms of gui, easy of use, etc.

are all three just as fast?

thanks. for the suggestions. i am playing with postfix and might do groupware using an opensource project.

i cannot seem to get postfix hooked up to an os x open directory server.

i typed

email:~ admin$ postconf -m
static
sdbm
regexp
environ
proxy
btree
netinfo
unix
hash

NO LDAP ! any pearls of wisdom!
1. Kerio won’t scale well to 1800 people, and they’ll tell you this themselves. So throw them out.
Did they give you a ceiling on users? I’m looking at Kerio for about 400 users to replace CGatePro now that the folks at Stalker have lost their ever-lovin’ minds and jacked the prices.

… Also anxiously awaiting your shootout

Any aprox. ETA on the roundup? I’m planning to migrate a small in-house server from Quickmail 3.0. Considering post.office, EIMS and Kerio. Priorities – stability, ease of use, filtering.
