Dual directory setup frustration

This morning I created the OD Master Server. I then configured LDAPv3 on a 10.4.10 client machine and was able to log into it.

I then bound the OD Master Server to the AD domain. I am able to see user accounts, groups, etc in Workgroup Manager.

Then bound the client (which was logging into the OD Master Server) to AD. So it is bound to both OD and AD.

Added some users from AD to a new test group in OD. Tried logging in and it seems I am logging directly onto AD. If I log in with usernames that are NOT dragged over to OD, it still logs in.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Updates:

I now have OD and AD authenticating properly. When I try to log onto my test client with OD credentials, it works. When I try to log on using AD credentials, it works.

Last issue: how do log on with AD credentials, but have OD manage scripts, patches, etc. I can see everything on AD from the OS X Server, create groups, etc.

Idead?
