Domain Admins in Directory Administrators group?

Is it possible to just put Domain Admins in the Directory Administrators group? We base all of our admin/sudo privileges off of Domain Admins in AD and I tried putting in Domain Admins group as a member of Directory Administrators in OD, but this didn’t give my Windows account admin rights in OD.
Am I barking up the wrong tree? Is there a smarter way to do this?

No, I still haven’t figured anything out. There’s a lot of quirks with it finding group information from Active Directory, and the nested groups don’t help.
