    Hi,

I recently added a client to my DNS – their website resides on my Xserve, but their mail server is at their location in a different state. I added an MX record and A record for their mail server to my DNS, but I am getting the following error in my DNS log:

Feb 09 13:40:10.279 client their.ip.address#1036: updating zone ‘theirdomain.com/IN’: update failed: ‘RRset exists (value dependent)’ prerequisite not satisfied (NXRRSET)

Is this issue on my end our their end? I need to get this resolved as it is hitting my DNS every hour or so for the past week.

    Thanks in advance,

    Cory

Exactly…my client’s email server is running Windows 2000 Server and trying to do update dynamic DNS on mine. I host their website and am their DNS NS for their domain. My Xserve points to their box for mail. I am working with their IT guy this week…all he has to do is uncheck Register this connection’s addresses in DNS in their Dial-Up Connection DNS tab and all will be well.

Thanks for responding, I did a little research and found out what needed to happen.

    Cory
