    Hi all,
I will be purchasing a couple of servers for two locations (1 sever each). The purpose of the machines is for file and printing services. I hope to set up a DFS (distributed file system) as each location needs to access (and edit) the same files but connections between the two buildings are God-aweful slow. I believe I can accomplish this by purchasing some syncing software and running batches every night.

However, I would prefer something that is constantly updating. Is there any solution out there that will accomplish this for Panther server?

    Thank you.

have you looked into using AFS?

    go to http://www.openafs.org for more.

Sorry for the incredibly delayed reply. Yes I have looked into OpenAFS but it seems as though they only have a Client for Mac, not a server. If this is not right please let me know.

In the meantime, has anyone successfully compiled AFS from source?

    Thanks.

OK, I found that the OpenAFS server is in the Mac download but it looks awfully complicated to set up. Has anyone successfully done this?
